Well, National Bike to Work Day has come and gone. A couple of us did make the ride in on what ended up being quite a spectacular day. The commute brought us 40+ miles to work and back along beautiful stream lined dirt roads, rail trails, and New Canada Road with its views off to Cardigan Mountain. These miles also counted towards our Ragged Mountain Resort Cycling Team’s National Bike Challenge log.
The changing of the season here at Ragged Mountain brings with it a bunch of formal events that we host. From High School Proms, Graduation Parties, Family Reunions, and Weddings, we can host many different formal and semi-formal events for a wide range of budgets. Check out our Weddings and Groups Sales page for more info or shoot us an email.
DON’T FORGET the Mission: Affordable Season Pass price goes up on June 1st. Currently at $279, this all-ages, No Black Out Dates, pass gives you access to the 57 trails, 17 glades, 3 terrain parks, and top-to-bottom beginner trails, serviced by two high-speed detachable lifts, including NH’s only 6-pack chairlift! May is recognized as the National Bike Month to help raise
awareness of cycling across the country and to help build more support,
locally, regionally and nationally. As such it is also the launch of the annual
National Bike Challenge, a free event that runs from May to September, which is
designed to encourage people to get out and ride more. Using Strava to record all
miles ridden, the challenge is a friendly competition with friends, colleges,
and teams with recognition and prizes weekly, monthly, and for the whole
We’re psyched this season to be joining the challenge as the Ragged Mountain Resort Cycling Team. Many of us here at the mountain have already been out riding the local trails (when they’ve been dry), riding the road, and commuting to work. As part of the National Bike Month, this Friday the 19th is National Bike to Work Day and a few of us will make the commute by bike into the office for the day! If you would like to get involved, either with our team, or on your own, please click here.
As many of you already know, cycling is a great way to stay in shape for the winter time!
We hope to see you out there!

Now that we’ve all had a little bit of time to get back in the swing of spring… bike rides, kayaking, fishing, disc golf, and more, we can’t help but think back on how awesome this past season was.
Thank you to everyone who came out and GOT RAGGED this winter! We hope you had as much fun as we did. Weather you joined in on the Bebe Wood Free Learn to Ski & Ride Program and tried this great sport for the first time, or tested your skills on the last weekend in the woods or across the pond, we hope you found some fun times with some good people!
In case you missed it, check out the write up in Snowboarder on the post season photo shoot our Ragged MTN Parks team did with a bunch of local pros! Thanks to Mike Azevedo for the photos, Brendan Hart for the write up, and our own Bryan Harper for making it all happen! The massive Hip was built and sessioned all in one beautiful day in the middle of April, and the riders were having so much fun they went until the sun was down. Truly some incredible shots! Thanks to Will Mayo for the shots seen here in this blog post!
We’ve got some great events we are planning for this summer here at Ragged Mountain. Keep your eyes out for more details!

It also goes without saying that none of this success would have been possible without the many skiers and riders that came out this season. Whether you came to an early season event like the Squared Up Rail Jam or attended our Christmas brunch with Santa, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of our customers! You are truly what makes Ragged Mountain such a great place for families to ski.

With cold temperatures going into the final week of New Hampshire vacation week, we've fired up the guns. Come enjoy the new snow this weekend and #getragged with us. Be sure to #thankasnowmaker while you're at it!
Due to high sustained wind and gusts 50 + MPH, both the 6-pack and Spear lifts are on wind-hold. We will re-assess wind conditions every 15 minutes. The Barnyard triple and learning area carpets are unaffected and currently open.
Following a few days of freeze / thaw, we had a pretty stellar day! Our groomers worked to make sure that we had some great terrain for skiers and riders of all skill levels.
Early in the day, the Barnyard was host to a number of Bebe Wood lessons and some folks taking lessons, improving on their fundamentals. The Spear Mountain Express opened this morning to a bunch of smiling faces enjoying the sun on Cardigan and Flying Yankee.
After the wind died down, we opened up the Summit Six Pack where both Exhibition and Birches were skiing great for advanced skiers and riders.
Be sure to #thankagroomer the next time you're up here with us to #getragged. A big thank you to our team of groomers!
This week should bring plenty of more fun on the hill for everyone enjoying NH winter break.
The past few days have certainly made for some interesting, and fun skiing. The groomers are out right now getting trails back in shape for some fun skiing and riding.
We are currently opening Barnyard and Spear Peaks as usual. The groomers will then make their way across Ragged Peak, and patrol will open those trails in stages. The 6-pack will be on a wind hold this morning and we will reevaluate as the day progresses.Last Edited by Ragged Mountain on Sunday, February 26, 2017
This past long weekend was one for the record books! With a two week total of 56" going into the holiday, conditions everywhere were unbelievable. Everyone had a smile on their face, whether they were searching out powder caches in the trees or checking out some of the many new features in our terrain parks. You did not have to look far to find people enjoying everything we had to offer!
On Saturday we hosted our USASA Rail Jam event where talented skiers and riders from around New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island came to test their skills and put on a show. Our terrain park staff worked tirelessly to build a fantastic park, so be sure to #ThankAParkRanger when you see them!
On Sunday, the New Hampshire State U16 Slalom Qualifiers was held over on Showboat, and the turnout could not have been better. There was no shortage of spectators along the side of the trail, and guests riding up the Spear Express did not hesitate to holler out their support for these talented skiers.
Conditions are still expected to be fantastic throughout the vacation week, so be sure to head over and [buy your tickets now]. We will be waiting for you to come up and #GetRagged with us!

Mother Nature has jumped on board this week, helping to make our Mission even better! It’s been snowing like crazy, and ski patrol has been opening more of Ragged Mountain’s finest gladed terrain all week. This week brought 6 inches of new snow on Tuesday and another 13 inches on Thursday. That has brought our trail count up to 53, including the bowl between Ragged and Spear Peaks. Now it looks like there is even more in the immediate forecast. The skiing and riding this weekend is going to be amazing!
The Terrain Park Team has been re-sculpting the lower half of our park all week and have 13 new features ready for some fun this weekend. Make sure to check out the new wall ride.

Winter Storm Jupiter swept through New England this past Wednesday leaving us with just over 8 inches of new snow, and conditions have been great! Following the storm, we have been able to open some of our glades like Moose Alley, Devil's Den, and Tree Hugger. In total, we were able to open up another 9 trails, and we're not stopping there. Our snowmakers have been hard at work, blowing snow on Upper and Lower Exhibition.
In addition to opening up some of our glades, our Park Staff has been working hard the past few days to get the terrain parks built for the upcoming weekend. This past week, we opened up a handful of features in both the Wild Side and Wanna Be Wild terrain parks. Be sure to head over and thank our hard working staff for keeping landings clear and making sure take offs are nice and crispy.
Be sure to buy your tickets online in advance and save. Follow this link to buy now! Chuck n John will be joining us in the Stone Hearth Bar for some live music, so grab a snow pizza and a pint of Lord Hobo's Boom Sauce, then come enjoy some great tunes. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

The only thing that could make the conditions any better here would be some snow. Evening forecasts for the area are calling for 7 inches of the good stuff! We'll be sure to update the snow report first thing tomorrow with our totals.

One couldn’t ask for a better day to celebrate the start of the New Year. 2017 has so far brought clear skies and great conditions, and everyone has come out to enjoy it.
Sport Thoma’s Demo Day has folks out trying new skis! Remember that all Season Pass Holders receive 10% off retail pricing at Sport Thoma.
One of our long time locals, Mark Sullivan was out today enjoying the New Year. He was proudly sporting his pine bow. Everyday Mark finds a new one which he tucks under his goggle strap, skis all day long with it, and at night places it in his wood stove as a sacrifice to the snow gods! Mark, we are with you on this one. Keep making your sacrifices and we’ll happily keep skiing fresh snow!
Wishing you all a Happy New Year,
