...And all across the resort, conditions are holding because our mountain ops team ROCKS!
Conditions today will be a soft, frozen granular surface which will be very fun to carve some turns in. While some may see yesterday’s freezing rain as a bad thing, it has actually helped in a couple of ways. One it helped to generate a nice firm base in the woods which will be great for the New Year and tree skiing/riding. Two it recharged our snowmaking ponds giving us more water as we look to continue the snowmaking program on Spear this week. What does all this mean… with the cold temps and snow in the forecast for this week, the skiing and riding for the holiday week should be fantastic!

Today marks the start of our holiday festivities at the mountain. Santa will be at the New Hampshire Mountain Inn this morning for Breakfast, photos, and crafts for the kids, while at the Mountain we’re getting the terrain park action started on Village Green with the Squared Up Rail Jam Featuring DJ Scrumptious. Join us after the skiing and riding is over for our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa.
Speaking of skiing and riding, we saw a fresh 6” of snow fall yesterday making for some great conditions today. We are opening the Bottom of Turnpike to Wanna Be Wild and the Beginner Basin today, along with adding Carpet 2 to the mix.
Snow moves back in today, with a forecasted 5 to 8 inches over the next 12 hours! This should make for a very fun day of skiing and riding. Keep an eye on our snow report for any updates of natural terrain opening. Pines will open today, it may be delayed a bit, but look for that trail to open shortly after the lifts start turning!
It should stay right around the mid-teens throughout the day today, so make sure to stop in and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and a freshly baked treat.
