WHEN YOU GET HERE
Once you are here, head for our base area where there are two main buildings. The one on the left has a red barn and grain silo look to part of it, and it’s called Elmwood Lodge. The building on the right is all white with green trim, and it’s known as Meeting House Lodge.

If you need rentals and lessons, Meeting House Lodge is a good place to start. Right across from the flag poles in the parking lot is the entrance to the rental department, and that’s probably the best place to begin if you just need rentals. If you'd like lessons and rentals or just lessons, head instead up the granite steps, between the lodges and turn right into the main entrance to the Meeting House Lodge. The Learning Center is right there and they'll take good care of you.

If you have equipment and you are ready to hit the slopes, just walk up the granite steps between the two buildings and you will see the lift ticket windows on your left. There are also day lockers inside Elmwood Lodge if you’d like to store some of your things for the day.

CLOTHING
It’s a good idea to dress in layers, and wool or high tech fabrics like capilene and fleece are much better at keeping you warm than cotton. On most days, and especially if you are a beginner, it’s best to wear something waterproof as an outer layer on both your top and bottom halves.

Hats are generally a good idea, and helmets are even better. You can lose up to 40% of your body heat through your head, even when you are all bundled up, so if your toes are cold, put on a hat!

Even more important than a hat is protection for your eyes. The glare coming off the snow, even on cloudy days is very hard on your eyes and can sunburn the whites of your eyes quite easily. In severe cases, you can also develop snow-blindness. Please wear sunglasses or goggles whenever you are out on the snow.

Our mountain adventure programs are for all ability levels. You and your children can enjoy your time knowing that you are in good hands with Ragged Mountain ski and snowboard instructors.
