Golf Course Information

The original golf course at Ragged Mountain had two things going for it: it had beautiful views and it was challenging.  While those characteristics are important, in and of themselves they are not sufficient to make an outstanding course.

Noted course designers Faxon & Booth have been hired to redesign the Ragged Mountain course and turn it into a noteworthy, engaging, and environmentally responsible 18-hole delight.   In addition to making it a golfer’s dream, they will be restructuring the course in accordance with Audubon International’s Certified Signature Sanctuary guidelines.

The Audubon Signature program helps course designers balance the desires for a challenging and picturesque course with the goals of making it hospitable to wildlife, recreational use, and view corridors.  Brad Booth has worked with Audubon as an advisor since the inception of their Signature Sanctuary program, so he is intimately familiar with the design methods to help achieve these desired objectives. Brad Faxon showed his expertise on the PGA tour for millions to enjoy.  He now brings that talent to the design side of the scorecard.  Messrs. Faxon and Booth will be redesigning and/or relocating a majority of the holes on the old Ragged Mountain course to create an enjoyable, intelligent, and active links that retains its original beauty.

We anticipate that construction will begin the spring of 2010 and will probably take a couple seasons to complete. Please stay tuned for more course construction updates. In the meantime please come out and enjoy our great rates this season.
