More Terrain Opening Tomorrow

It is hard to believe, but we are now coming into the middle of ski-season at Ragged Mountain Resort. With the talented team of staff, it has been an extremely enjoyable season thus far. Mountain Operations has kept our snow surface conditions silky smooth and plentiful. Our snowmaking team has kept a substantial amount of terrain open and growing even with the challenges of Mother Nature and the fairly mild winter. We have seen a lot of progression in technology advances with our new app and web cam. Our Food & Beverage department continues to get accolades from our guests with comments such as "the best food out of all of New Hampshire ski areas!" Our Learning Center books out every weekend and is having a major role in growing the sport of skiing and snowboarding. The Rental department has a vital role in getting new comers on the correct size equipment and our Rossignol high-end demo skis have been popular this year. The Ragged Edge Tuning shop has repaired many ski/snowboard bases and keeps those edges sharp and wax fast. The Guest Service department provides responsive service and that first impression experience our guests have come to love about Ragged Mountain.

Looking forward we are opening more terrain for the weekend. Upper Exhibition, Birches, Town Meeting, and the upper section of Wild Side Terrain Park will be ready to go for 8:30AM Saturday morning. Our event schedule is heating up and will be occurring with more frequency. Wedding season is just around the corner, keep our venue in mind as we still have some dates available for this summer. You can also help us by doing a little snow dance, lets hope the #danburysnowbelt provides some storm cycles soon!

Upcoming Events:

Saturday, February 8, Ski East on Village Green

Saturday, February 15, USASA Rail Jam:  USASA members only event featuring skiers and snowboarders. Contestants will compete on our legendary three-tier rail layout which gives them a total of nine different features to be judged on.

Sunday, February 16, Sport Thoma On-Snow Ski Demo:  Sport Thoma will be offering Rossignol, Fischer, Blizzard, K2, Nordica, Liberty, Stockli, Kastle, and Armada skis. Hours are from 9:00am to 2:00pm and please be sure to register at the Sport Thoma retail store inside Elmwood Lodge.

MID-JANUARY UPDATE

This past weekend was beyond a January thaw, it was seemingly April out there on the slopes. We saw a number of skiers sporting their Hawaiian shirts and shorty shorts making their way down the mountain. We are happy to report that our snowpack survived the two fifty degree consecutive days! As New England skiers and riders we remain eternally optimistic.

Our incredibly talented Mountain Operations team had the snow re-surfaced for Monday mornings opening and improved on it even more for today. The forecast and snow report is looking bright, as temperatures are returning to normal. Wednesday and Thursday night appear to be in the single digits. These temps will allow our die-hard snowmaking team to build our base and re-open more terrain. Mother Nature is going to provide some natural snow to boot. Currently 3 inches forecasted on Wednesday night into Thursday morning and 8 inches starting up late morning Saturday into Sunday.

Be sure to check our Web Cam featuring a new Patrol Setting (scheduled 9am to 3pm daily) that changes point of view every 30 seconds and gives you a nice overview of several aspects on our two summits. This upcoming Saturday and Sunday is Martin Luther King weekend, tell all of your friends about our FOOD DRIVE taking place on Monday, January 20th. Bring (5) non-perishables and receive a $59 Adult Day Ticket or a $47 Junior/Teen/Senior Day Ticket. All food donated will go to our local food pantries in Danbury and Bristol.

Happy New Year From All Of Us At Ragged Mountain!

The New Year is upon us and beautiful Ragged Mountain has had an incredible start to the season! We are currently offering 30 trails, 128 skiable acres of terrain. Ski Patrol recently dropped the ropes on several of our glades including Moose Alley and Raggae Glades from the Summit 6-passenger Express, and Gobblers Knob, Tree Hugger, Devils Den and Ridge Runner glades off the Spear Mountain Express Quad.

We have had over 1200 downloads of our new Ragged Mountain Resort APP and we are getting tremendous feedback on it! If you have not had a chance to check it out, be sure to:  Apple HERE | Android HERE

Our Birches Mountain Restaurant is offering casual dining and changed their menu for this season. Perhaps you fancy the Poutine, or the Headwall Burger, my personal favorite is the Wonton Chicken Enchiladas.

If one of your New Year's resolutions is to become a better skier or rider, consider booking a lesson with our Learning Center. We offer a number of classes that cater to you, such as our Women's Program, Legends Program, Race Development Program, or our Freestyle Snowboard Program.
